I'm writing the same email to like nine
other people with an ecard attachment to it. I'm also adding a
personal message just for that person.
I want to take this
opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy Easter. This time of
year holds a special meaning to me and I hope it does for you as
well.
I don't always understand why things happen but the past
6 weeks or so you and the people at MPR have given me a new sense of
hope. You are an answered prayer and I'm so grateful thankful and
blessed to have you'll in my corner. I catch myself daydreaming
thinking about what I'd be doing right now if I was home. I know
whatever it is it would be family related. But I tell myself when I
snap back to reality that my day is coming sooner then anyone thinks.
That's my belief.
I think about my life as a whole and believe
if it wasn't for my upbringing in the church I'd be a completely
different person. Early into my sentence I was and angry and bitter
individual because of the injustice that happened. The last thing I
wanted my family or anyone to say was this is all apart of Gods plan
for you. "Why God are you allowing this to happen" I asked?
I heard that faint voice in my head say, "Be still and know that
I am God." Then a short time later He led me to the verse that
has kept me going all these years and that is Jeremiah 29:11 For I
know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. That
was 20 years ago and here I still sit but I'm in a far better place
today both mentally and emotionally.
God has placed people in
my life to keep me grounded and focused on the big picture. I'm
talking to family members that I haven't talked to in years. I have
new friends and penpals in Europe. Plus I have you Lori and all the
people at MPR that is looking into my case and you'll recently posted
my story on your social media sites. Guys here have been telling me
that is the way I need to go because everybody now a days is on the
computer. Brian told me they share stories and you Jim have a story
about your wrongful conviction that people need to hear about. So
again thank you from my mom my family and a heart felt thanks from
me.
I pray as you celebrate Easter that you know why this day
is important to so many. He died today which is called Good Friday
and he rose three days later which we know is called Easter. I hope
you your family and friends have a Happy Easter. "Nothing on
earth could hold him except our hearts."
The innocent
dies for the guilty.
The holy dies for the ungodly.
The
righteous dies for the sinner.
Jesus Christ took Barabbas's place,
and he also took our place.
Happy Easter, James"
